XLsuite was born out a desire to integrate all aspects of our home services company into one on-line environment. Marketing, Billing, Site Management, Reporting, all based on the same set of client data, all on-line where it was easy to work with and didn't require any double entry of client or other data.
At the time there were not a lot of commercial solutions on the market that offered what we were looking for, or if they did it was well beyond our price range as a small business.
Our first attempt was 2 years ago and it had a dramatic effect on our business. It not only enabled us to manage our local business much more effectively, it also added the ability for us to extend our business model to others across the web in other cities and even other countries.
We continued to grow the system for another year before we decided that other companies could use this for their needs as well.
We decided to take what we'd built to date and revamp the User Interface and the structure of the system so that it could be the basis for many business uses, not just our company. Retail, Information marketing, real estate, professional services... we all manage clients, billing, lead generation and our websites.
In September of 2006 we formed iXLD Media Inc to develop our software. XLsuite was first called XLcms, we then had XLapi, eventually as we added more pieces to the puzzle and came up with XLsuite which as a name covered more ground.
Why 40?
It's my personal goal to build a globally successful software company before I turn 40. (2 years from this writing)
So: iXLD – represents – “I excelled”, as in “I did well” :)
XLsuite is... well, our eXLlent suite of tools.
